Couperosis is a harmless but annoying condition and usually occurs in the face or on the décolleté. You may feel insecure due to the visible blood vessels and spider webs that often make the skin turn red and sometimes blue. Couperosis can also feel burning and give a red head. Couperosis unfortunately does not go away by itself. Couperosis is often associated with rosacea: although these conditions often occur together, they are two different things. With the laser treatment in our clinic in Amsterdam, Couperosis and rosacea are a thing of the past. Make an appointment for a free consultation right away.
About our laser treatment
How do couperosis and rosacea develop
Couperosis is partly a hereditary condition. Mainly people with a lighter skin type often suffer from discoloration. In general, couperosis is more common in the elderly and people who are out regularly. Couperosis can also occur as a result of acne rosacea; small inflammations occur in this skin condition, in which pimples may develop in addition to redness. In both cases, couperosis treatment can be treated effectively.
What you can do yourself against couperosis
Couperosis and rosacea do not disappear by itself, but can become worse. The redness can increase due to the consumption of coffee, tea, alcohol or spicy food. It is therefore important to avoid these ingredients. UV radiation can also contribute to exacerbation of couperosis and rosacea. Lubricate the skin with a sunscreen, both in winter and when it is sunny. In addition, it is important to avoid scented products when skincare. This prevents further irritation.

After the couperosis treatment
After the treatment, the skin may appear red and slightly swollen. This can be cooled with ice packs. After the session you can simply continue with your daily activities.
